Isolamento e avaliação da atividade antimicrobiana de fungos endofíticos de açaizeiro
endophytic fungi are microorganisms that inhabit the plant interior and are potential sources of compounds, being able to be apply in industry, agriculture and medicine, besides acting in symbiosis with their hosts. Therefore, the present study aims to isolate endophytic fungi from açaizeiro (Euterpe precatoria Mart) and to evaluate the potential for the production of antimicrobial substances by disc diffusion technique against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Streptococcus pneumoniae ATCC 49619, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Klensiella pneumoniae ATCC 700603. For this, samples of leaves, stalk and roots of açaizeiro were collected for the isolation of fungi. Fifty fungi were isolated, and it was possible to identify six different genus: Colletotrichum, Guignardia, Penicillium, Ulocladium, Fusarium and Aspergillus sp. Two fungi isolated (C4 and R13) presented antimicrobial activity against S. aureus. Thus, the data indicated species that produce bioactive substances of strong antimicrobial potential.
